St. Louis
We spent a long Easter weekend in St. Louis with our great friends The O'Reillys. How did we come to the decision to meet in St. Louis? Easiest answer...it's half way between Ft. Campbell and Ft. Riley.
Budweiser Factory & Tasting
The Gateway Arch
The St. Louis Zoo
Beer Tastings (there were a ton of craft beer breweries)
Dinner at the top of the Millennium Hotel
On the way home we stopped in Metropolis, IL to see Superman
Boudros Brew
When Matt got home from deployment I wanted to get him a gift that he would never get himself. No, not a car, he bought that one all on his own; so I ended up getting him his first (and certainly not least) beer making kit. There are so many different kits that you can buy, but I went with the brown ale since it's my favorite!
Another reason I'm the worst blogger, I forgot to take pictures of the final product, but don't worry, it tasted great!
Blue Ridge, GA
We spent Memorial Day Weekend with a great couple we met here at Ft. Campbell. We didn't want to go too far from home so Janelle found a great cabin rental for us in the mountains. We walked through the great little town, hiked, went white water rafting, built camp fires, and relaxed in the hot tub. You want to know what the best thing was about the weekend...little to no cell phone service! The guys actually got to get away from work and the phone calls to relax!
Rafting (can't wait to do it again!)
Playing with fire (aka making smores)
The guys at the "gun show"
This is Peanut.
She belonged to the neighbors, and greeted us whenever we came back to the house.
Hiking followed by a swim. It was a beautiful hike until we came across a rattle snack. I still get goose bumps just thinking of it. Blah!
Kaiser and Lucy got some quality boyfriend/girlfriend time.
Our cabin for the weekend.
On the way home we stopped in Chattanooga, TN to visit Rock City on Lookout Mountain. Basically you can "see" 7 different states from this one point.
Change of Command
It's official, Matt has taken command of 1-320th Field Artillery Battalion, Alpha "ROCKHARD" Battery! He will be in command anywhere from 12 to 15 months. I have met many of the soldiers and their families, and can't wait to get this FRG off the ground and going.
Summer Block Leave
Every year, when Matt is stateside, he gets two long vacations; one in the summer and one for Christmas/New Year. Matt and I decided to spend the first half in New York with the fam and the second half in Florida with the McCabes. The end of the vacation was sad because we had to leave the beach and relaxation behind, but it was great to be able to go home and have our best friends move in around the corner from us!
First stop- Helping Maggie move in to her first big girl apartment in DC.
Second Stop- New York. Relaxing by the pool, hanging with the fam and pups, and some golfing.

Last Stop- Destin, Florida with the McCabes
Kaiser and T reunited after months of being apart.
Golfing and hanging down at Harbor Walk.
Soaking up some rays at the beach.
Watching the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Tournament at Baytowne Marina.
Playing at Baytowne Wharf.
The guys went deep sea fishing and caught some red snapper.
Nashville
We finish up this loooooong recap of #theboudroadventures (thanks for sticking around!) in Nashville. Since Kevin has never been downtown, and he was getting ready to leave, we figured we should spend the night at Opryland and show what this town has to offer.
McCabes Pub for some grub.
Yazoo for local beer tasting and tour.
Venturing out and around Opryland
Brunch at Pfunky Griddle
Now that you have made it to the end of this very long post and 284930 pictures, I hope to not have another one of these massive posts again. Well lets be real, it will probably happen again, but hopefully not anytime soon.
Goodnight and thanks for coming!
