Bailey's Story

As you all know, we have recently adopted another boxer named Bailey. Our sweet little girl came from a pretty crappy home, and I felt it was necessary to share her story with you all.

Here is her story written by Jennifer at Montgomery County Friends of the Shelter...

"FINALLY, we are able and soooo ready to share Jaimie’s (Bailey's) story with all of our MCFOTS supporters! Jaimie (Bailey) was taken from The Grove Apartments in Clarksville, TN after the apartment manager turned the owner in to animal control. She was tied to a couch with a two foot rope and was hungry enough to ingest non food items. When MCFOTS took Jaimie (Bailey) to foster from Animal Control six weeks ago, she weighed a mere 27lbs. Within 12 hours of being in our care, Jaimie (Bailey) vomited a sock, a toothbrush and other unidentifiable objects and had severe, bloody diarrhea. She was rushed to St. Bethlehem Animal Hospital where Dr. Whitford performed emergency surgery for obstructions resulting in the removal of her lower intestines due to old punctures throughout the organ. Jaimie’s (Bailey's) chances of surviving through the night were slim….but she is a fighter and she pulled through. For six weeks now we have fattened her up and began teaching her how to play (she caught on to that one quickly!). Today she had her day in court and her previous owner was found guilty of animal cruelty, fined and had to surrender her. It truly took a community to save this baby girl, from Animal Hospital, to The Grove Apartment Manager, Animal Control and of course all of you that donated to help pay for her medical bills. The result? A healthy, very happy, baby boxer girl who has found her furever home. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!!"

Words cannot express how happy and grateful we are to have this little girl become part of our family! A special thanks to all those at MCFOTS and the donors that contributed to helping with Bailey's surgeries. If anyone in the FTCKY/Clarksville area is looking to adopt, please take a minute and visit MCFOTS and their amazing staff!

Kaiser is super happy as well to have a little sister and cuddle buddy join the family!
